Selecting Your Desired Service Level

Service Level determines what goAskem functions and capabilities are available, and determines your cost -- goAskem offers No-Fee and For-Fee services.

You may create multiple tests and surveys with a single account, and you may establish multiple accounts, each with a different service level. See Service Levels and Pricing.

Q: Once I've built a test, can I transfer it to a higher service level to gain access to more advanced capabilities?  Is there a charge for this?

A: Yes, merely upgrade your account to the desired level to gain access to the new level's capabilities.  You merely pay the difference between the Level you were at, and the Level you are upgrading to.  See Pricing.

Completing the Registration Process

Each registration establishes an independent account with a designated Service Level.

To register, you must provide a valid email address.  This address will be kept confidential by iWay Technology Company as operator of the goAskem.net application service.  It will be used solely for contacting you about goAskem or other iWay Technology Company services.  See Privacy Policy.

Some service levels are No-Fee and some are For-Fee.   To create a for-fee service level account, you must send payment within 10 days of account creation.  You may terminate such an account at any time and limit your financial obligation to only services you have used to that point in time, including partial months.  All services are provided on a pay-as-you-go basis with no long-term commitments required!

For all Service Levels, you must accept the terms of our Service Agreement.

During the registration process you will provide a Username.  If your choice has been taken, or fails the posted minimum constraints (eg, too short), you will be asked to provide another.  The registration process is complete when the goAskem service emails to you a private password (usually immediately upon registration) to access the test creation and results pages.  Tip: if you intend to create several accounts, use the same username root and add a digit to the end of each.  For example, ZekesGoAskem1, ZekesGoAskem2, etc.

You are solely responsible for the safe keeping of your username and password.  If at any time you believe that your username and password have been used in an unauthorized fashion, contact  iWay Technology Company  IMMEDIATELY at webmaster@iwaytechnology.net.  Use the words "ACCESS VIOLATION" in the subject line of your email.

Q: Can I change my username and password?

A: Not presently.  In the future, you'll be able to change your password by logging into goAskem with the password emailed to you and clicking the Manage Account button.   You cannot change your username.

Q: What if I forget my username or password?

A: You may have your username and password emailed to the address you entered at registration by providing that email address again.  If you have more than one email address, you must remember which one you used when registering for the service.  If you have more than one goAskem account, all username/password pairs associated with that address will be sent, each in a separate message.

Creating Your Test or Survey

Once registered, you may begin creating assessments immediately.  Carefully craft your questions to properly measure your subjects' knowledge or opinions, and to facilitate your interpretation of results.

The assessment creation process is intuitive and easy to follow.  For examples of the type of questions you may create, see our Samples.   The Service Levels page explains capabilities in detail.

Publishing Your Test and Getting Your Access Id

When you have completed creating your assessment, you will need to Publish it.  This step makes it available to the Web.  At the time you publish, you will be assigned an Access Id.  Record that Access Id in a safe place, such as where you keep your account username and password.  You will use it in the next step.

Q: What if I lose my test Access ID?

A: When you login to goAskem, you will see a list of all your tests and surveys.  Your Access Ids for published tests are listed in that display.

Q: When I use goAskem, where does my assessment and data go?

A: Good question.  The goAskem application service manages that complexity for you.  An on-line database stores your assessment and all response data with password protection for immediate recall.

Be aware that, under No-Fee Service Level, there is a 60-day time limit to the accessibility of that information.  There is no time limit for For-Fee accounts in good standing (that is, paid up).  You may upgrade a No-Fee account to preserve indefinitely assessments and results collected under that account, but you must upgrade prior to the 60-day cutoff.

See Service Levels for details.

For details on goAskem's backup policy, see the Service Agreement.

Making Your Test or Survey Accessible

Once you have Published  your goAskem.net assessment, you may link to it from your website.  Or, for direct access, simply provide your subjects with the access URL, including Access ID, that you receive when you Publish.  This is useful if you do not yet have your own website, or you wish to keep an assessment separate from that site.

Link To  Place a link in one of your existing web pages with an invitation to respond.

Here's how that might look in your page (note that, for this example only, the blue link below is not 'live'):

. . .
Assess your expertise on our popular office productivity tool by taking our quick, on-line test.
. . .

To create that link in your HTML, you use the familiar <A HREF> and </A> tags.  Here is a look inside your web page with the link and invitation combined (the HTML link code is shown in red):

. . .
Assess your expertise on our popular office productivity tool by taking
<AHREF="http://www.goaskem.net/iscs/servlet/assay?id=P00xxxxxx">
our quick, on-line test</A>.
. . .

Simply substitute in the above HTML <A HREF= "..."> tag your assigned goAskem Access ID for the id P00xxxxxx.

One final note: all letters in the string 'iscs/servlet/assay?...' are Case-Sensitive!

Direct Access  As we said, you could alternatively use the direct access approach simply by having your test visitors enter the URL above directly into their browser address line.   Or, you can embed that address as a link in your emailings.

The URL is this string -

http://www.goaskem.net/iscs/servlet/assay?id=P00xxxxxx

Of course, in place of P00xxxxxx, you again provide the actual Access Id received when you Publish.

Follow-Up Actions

Test access may be controlled by either, or both, access duration (in days) and access count settings.  Free tests are limited to a 45-day availability, followed by an additional 15 days of results availability.  They are also limited to 500 accesses by the public, meaning that you can never collect data from more than 500 respondents for a free assessment.

For other Service Levels (For-Fee levels), you may choose to set an upper limit on assessment accesses, or set a duration of availability in days.  Also, you may return to the Administration screen at any time and suspend your assessment, making it temporarily, or permanently, unavailable to further respondents.

After your assessment has been published and you've had visitors, you may view results from the Admin screen.  At that point you may suspend, delete, or copy the assessment and make changes to the new copy.
